It’s a great time to highlight Messer since the decades-old company was recently recognized with a prestigious award (see more below) that is related to some of the content we’ve taken part in.

Uptown Workforce Development Initiative

In 2017, Messer rolled out The Uptown Workforce Development Initiative, an innovative partnership with Easterseals (a local nonprofit serving individuals with disabilities, veterans, seniors and their families), Building Value (a sustainability-minded Easterseals social enterprise that salvages reusable materials for sale to the public), and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. Through this initiative, Messer aims to bring a strong, more diverse workforce to the construction industry and provide full-time, sustainable careers, especially for individuals who live in economically distressed neighborhoods.

2020 CLIMB Award

We also want to take this opportunity to congratulate Messer for recently winning a 2020 CLIMB Award!

This award is granted by the Cincinnati Business Courier and Cincinnati Chamber. The CLIMB (Cincinnati Lifts Inclusion and Minority Business) program honors individuals and organizations in Greater Cincinnati who have helped our region achieve greater heights of success through building a diverse workforce, championing equitable practices and developing inclusive cultures.

Messer won the partnering for success award for their partnership with Easterseals.

(RCF Group, who we highlighted in September, also won a CLIMB Award! The President of RCF Group, Carl Satterwhite, won the Diverse by Design Award for Creating Pathways for Diverse Leadership.)
