We’re growing at Dooley! Would you - or someone you know - be a good fit?
Job Title: Content Editor & Creator
Reports to: Creative Director
Location: Cincinnati preferred; hybrid or remote
Start date: ASAP
Employment options: Full-time, part-time independent contractor, or part-time with the potential to transition to full-time
Dooley helps brands find their rhythm on social.
Many brands are either stuck moving too slowly with big creative ideas or moving fast without a clear plan. Dooley bridges that gap through an award-winning approach that combines strategy, creative, content, paid media, and creator partnerships into one complete social system.
We work with brands like Marzetti, Joico, Gold Star, Visit Cincy, and The Christ Hospital to help them show up consistently and meaningfully—pairing big ideas with the daily execution and optimization needed to drive real impact.
We’re a collaborative, growing team that values humility, curiosity, creativity, professional growth, work-life balance, and mental wellness.
We’re looking for a Content Editor & Creator who can turn raw footage, existing assets, and creative ideas into engaging, social-first content.
Editing will be a significant part of this role. You should genuinely enjoy shaping stories in post-production—identifying the strongest moments, tightening the pace, incorporating sound and motion, and adapting content for different platforms and audiences.
You’re also comfortable stepping outside the edit. You can contribute ideas, help develop concepts, capture content, and collaborate with teammates and clients to bring creative work to life.
You’re proactive, curious, organized, receptive to feedback, and energized by the fast-moving nature of social media.
Approximately 2–5 years of professional video editing and content production experience preferred, or comparable expertise demonstrated through a strong portfolio of social-first work
A portfolio that demonstrates strong editing, pacing, storytelling, sound selection, and visual judgment
Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Canva, and CapCut
Experience editing short-form video for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, paid social, and other digital placements
Strong understanding of hooks, retention, pacing, captions, graphics, transitions, music, and sound design
Ability to transform raw footage and existing brand assets into polished, platform-appropriate content
Experience resizing, reformatting, versioning, and optimizing content across platforms and placements
Ability to write or refine concise on-screen text, headlines, captions, and video scripts
Strong file-management, organization, and project-management skills
Ability to manage multiple clients, projects, deadlines, and rounds of feedback
Experience capturing quality photo and video content with a smartphone; professional camera experience is a plus
A strong eye for visual aesthetics, brand consistency, and engaging storytelling
Working knowledge of major social platforms, current content formats, and creative best practices
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Willingness to occasionally travel for client shoots, events, or team collaboration
Flexibility for occasional shoots outside standard working hours
Bonus points if you have design experience, like putting together social media carousels and presentations
Edit short-form and social-first video content for a variety of clients, platforms, campaigns, and objectives
Review and organize raw footage, identify the strongest moments, and shape them into clear, compelling stories
Incorporate music, sound effects, captions, graphics, motion, and transitions to strengthen each piece
Adapt content for organic social, paid social, multiple aspect ratios, and platform-specific placements
Create alternate cuts and variations based on platform needs, performance insights, and client feedback
Collaborate with the Creative Director, strategists, account leads, and other creators to understand client priorities and identify content opportunities
Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for ongoing content and larger campaigns
Help develop creative briefs, scripts, shot lists, and production plans ● Capture authentic photo and video content during occasional client shoots, on-site visits, and events
Create content using newly captured footage, existing client assets, photography, and brand materials
Apply social trends and editing techniques thoughtfully while maintaining each client’s brand voice and visual identity
Manage project files, timelines, revisions, exports, and final deliverables
Use performance data and audience response to help improve future content
Stay current on platform changes, emerging formats, editing techniques, and social creative trends
We prioritize candidates based in the Cincinnati area who can participate in our hybrid work environment. Because this role is primarily focused on editing, we’re also open to remote candidates who are available for occasional travel to Cincinnati or client locations.
This opportunity may be structured as:
A full-time employee role
A part-time independent contractor role of approximately 20–30 hours per week
A part-time engagement with the potential to transition into full-time employment
Full-time employees are eligible for:
Profit-sharing bonus opportunities
401(k) matching
Medical, dental, and vision coverage
Short-term disability and life insurance
Parental leave
Unlimited PTO
A flexible, hybrid work schedule
Company-provided equipment
Learning and professional-development opportunities
Business-casual dress
An overwhelming amount of swag
Benefits and equipment for part-time independent contractors will vary based on the final arrangement.
