What Are TikTok Bulletin Boards?

November 23, 2025

Bulletin Boards are TikTok’s new “one-to-many” DM channels that lets eligible creators push updates straight into followers’ inboxes.

If you’ve heard of “Broadcast Channels” on Instagram, “Community Posts” on YouTube, or “Private Stories” on Snapchat, then you get the idea: Basically the same thing, but on TikTok.

Bulletin Boards are in-app channels where a single creator can post messages to many followers.

  • Recipients can only react with emojis — no replies, no back-and-forth.

  • Posts can include text, images, or videos, and live in a scrollable, chat-style feed that sits in the TikTok inbox, with an optional “join” entry point on the creator’s profile.

Once someone joins a Bulletin Board, they get inbox notifications whenever that creator posts, giving you a direct line that doesn’t depend on FYP algorithm luck.

How It Works

To create a Bulletin Board (for eligible accounts):

  • Go to Inbox → tap the Chat icon → select “Create a bulletin board.”

  • Toggle “Show on profile” on/off to control whether it’s visible on your public profile.

  • Name your board and tap Create to open it.

Key constraints:

  • Only creators 18+ with over 50,000 followers can create a Bulletin Board.

  • Only the creator can post; followers can react with emoji.

  • Post up to 20 bulletins per day, with each message limited to 1,000 characters, plus support for text, image, and video.

  • Followers opt in and then receive inbox notifications for each new post.

Why It Matters

Bulletin Boards give brands and creators a combination of direct distribution plus notification-based reach.

Want to try it out?

  • Check your eligibility and spin up a Bulletin Board, even if you start with a simple weekly “insider” update.

  • Build a join funnel: add CTAs in your bio, content captions, and live scripts to drive opt-ins.

  • Define a posting cadence and content “promise” (e.g., first-drop promos, early previews, or weekly recaps) so followers know why to join and stay.

If you’re not at 50k followers yet, treat this as a reason to design a “future VIP lane” in your strategy now — so the moment you cross that threshold, you already know exactly how Bulletin Boards will plug into your plans.
